AFRIMMA 2018: Names of Nominated Cameroonian Artists, Venue And Date Announced!

The 5th edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards and Music Festival has officially opened with the release of the nomination list, date and venue. 

The music festival schedule to hold on October 7th 2018 in Dallas, USA, is the sole award ceremony in the
Diaspora that caters to all musical genres including but not limited to: Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Hiplife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous.

The event as usual, will bring together the biggest artists from all over Africa and beyond, nominated in 29 different categories. 

Unlike in 2017 with 15 nominees for the cultural jamboree, Cameroon has lost some ground this year as only nine (9) of her music acts made it to the nomination list under some 6 categories; Reniss, Charlotte Dipanda, Daphne and Gasha are nominated for Best Female Central Africa, Numerica and Locko are in the race for Best Male Central Africa, X Maleya iscampaigning for Best African GroupTENOR for Best NewcomerStanley Enow is a runner for Best Francophone and Dr Nkeng is nominated for Best Vidéo Director.

For 2017, Montess took home the award for Best Female Central Africa with her song “In Love With A GunMan” and Locko won for Best Male Central Africa with his song “Supporter” ft Mr Leo.
